I first tried to unlock my O2 phone by asking O2, they said they couldn't because it came from Carphone Warehouse and that I should get in touch with them and they will unlock it. Carphone Warehouse said that they don't do this service and that O2 or the manufacturer (Sony) should do it. So I asked Sony to do it, they said this isn't something they can do, only the service provider it's locked to can do it. I thought about getting it done at a street stall, or via an app - but read mixed reviews about these options. Then I saw Techradar had given Mobile Unlocked their stamp of approval, which I tend to trust. So I went with Mobile Unlocked, website was simple to use, it cost about £20 and took about a day for them to send me the code. Code worked straight away and now I have an unlocked phone - I'm well happy!
Phone was unlocked no problems in a few weeks. Placing the request was simple and the service was great.
Used twice now, unlocked iPhone 5s and 6 no problems
Simple, fast and cheap unlock of my son's O2 HTC M8 when we changed provider.
Worked on my iphone4, but having unlocked phones before, it cost more thanI was expecting, but that say more about Vodaphone, than MU. Took 7 days, which was earlier than the expected date. As others have stated, the email said I would need the original sim (which I don't have), before using the gg sim, but when it came to it, this step was unneccesary.
