If you’re using macOS Mojave or earlier, iTunes is the method to use.

2. Put it into recovery mode
3. Force a factory reset

• Connect your iPhone 7 to your Mac or PC with iTunes installed
• Open iTunes or Finder on your Mac of PC
• Press and hold the top (or side) and volume down buttons at the same time. Keep holding them until you see the apple logo and recovery mode screen.
• Locate your device on your computer using Finder or iTunes. When you have identified it, you will see the option to Restore or Update.
