Further types of iPhone unlocking
There are lots of immediate and long-term benefits to removing the network lock from your iPhone 11. It saves money immediately but gives flexibility and freedom moving forwards. But it’s not the only locking challenge you might want to resolve. From a lock screen to a disabled device, here are the most common phone locking problems with tips on how to solve them.
How to unlock iPhone 11 Pro Max without passcode
A key security feature, the iPhone 11 Pro Max screen lock works in two ways. You can unlock using an alphanumeric passcode, a pin code or use Face ID (facial recognition).
If you bought a used iPhone, the previous owner’s passcode may still be active, preventing you from logging on as you keep using the wrong password. Face ID won’t work either.
If it’s a new phone, you may have simply forgotten your passcode.
Either way, the outcome’s the same. Not only will you be unable to use your phone. But enter the wrong passcode too many times and you’ll disable the device.
With Mobile Unlocked you can unlock your iPhone 11 without a passcode or Face ID, even if it's been disabled or its screen is broken. And it doesn’t involve a factory reset of your device. Which means your data and settings stay safe and in place.
To unlock without password:
- Go to Mobile Unlocked
- Select ‘Screen Lock’ unlocking mode
- Connect device to a PC or laptop using a USB cable
- Click ‘Remove lock’
- Wait a few seconds for your unlock to complete.

How to unlock iPhone 11 Pro Max without Apple ID
Your iPhone 11 device model will be linked to an Apple ID account. Your account consists of an email address and a password. If you don’t know the Apple ID details linked to your iPhone you can’t access Apple services. These services include: the App Store, Apple Pay, Apple Music, iCloud, FaceTime, iTunes and more. You won’t be able to use or turn the ‘Find My’ app off either.
No problem.
You can resume access to all Apple services in seconds by deleting the locked or disabled iCloud account. This will then allow you to:
- Create a new Apple ID password or log into an existing alternative account
- Restore phone to its factory settings
- Turn off the ‘Find My’ app to stop the device being tracked by the previous Apple ID
- Access all iCloud and other Apple services
To unlock disabled iPhone without Apple ID
- Go to Mobile Unlocked’s disabled iPhone tool where we also show you how to unlock a disabled iPhone without iTunes
- Select ‘Apple ID’ unlocking mode
- Connect device to a PC or laptop using a USB cable
- Click ‘Remove lock’
Wait a few seconds for your unlock to complete.
How to unlock iPhone 11 Pro Max with iTunes
If you’re locked out of your phone because you don’t know the password, you can also use iTunes to activate a factory reset. It's the best way to remove all lock screens. But be warned, this will erase all of the data, settings and passwords in your iPhone. Remember to backup your data if you can.
To restore factory settings using iTunes:
- Install the latest version of iTunes onto your laptop or PC
- Connect your iPhone
- Click the iPhone icon in the top left corner of the iTunes window
- Select ‘Summary'
- Double click the 'Restore iPhone' button
TIP: If your computer hasn’t previously synced your iPhone to iTunes, it may not detect the mobile device. In this case, you’ll need to put it into ‘Recovery Mode’ first. To do this:
- Turn the device off by pressing down the 'Volume Up', 'Volume Down' and 'Side' buttons at the same time
- Release them when you see the 'Power Off' slider
- Hold down the ‘Side’ button and connect to a computer
- When the device is detected, click 'Restore iPhone'
How to unlock iPhone 11 Pro Max with ‘Find my’
If you know your Apple login details you can use the ‘Find My’ app on iCloud.com to unlock a disabled phone or get past the lock screen. But, again, this option requires a factory reset, which means a loss of all data, password and settings. It also requires you to have previously enabled the feature on your locked mobile device.
To restore factory settings remotely using ‘Find My’ app:
- Go to iCloud.com or open a browser on another iOS device with the ‘Find My’ app installed
- Log in using your Apple ID and password
- Click ‘All Devices’.
- Find and select your locked iPhone 11, locked iPhone 11 Pro or locked iPhone 11 Pro Max on the map.
- Press ‘Erase iPhone’.
How to unlock iPhone 11 Pro Max without computer
Included as part of the iOS 15.2 update, you can erase the device's lock screen without connecting to a PC. But you need to make sure your device is running on that updated version and is connected to a cellular or Wi-Fi. You will need the Apple ID and password used to set up the device. And you will experience a factory reset which will delete all of your data including the passwords.
To unlock disabled iPhone without computer
- Enter your passcode until you’re prompted to ‘Try later’
- Select ‘Erase iPhone’ and tap again to confirm
- Input your Apple ID and password
- Wait for your iPhone to restart and then set up your device as usual.
