Here are some answers to our most frequently asked questions.

General FAQ's

  • Will I be able to use ANY SIM card I like in my unlocked mobile?
  • YES, Once unlocked, your handset should be able to accept any compatible SIM card. NOTE! 3G SIM cards and networks have specific 3G compatible handsets. You will never be able to get a non-3G handset (like a Motorola v3) to accept a 3G SIM card (from an operator like "3" UK). To check if your handset is 3G compatible, simply visit the manufacturers website and check the technical specification.

  • Why are some codes delivered instantly and others can take up to 72hrs?
  • Some codes are generated automatically by our software using mathematical algorithms. Other codes do not follow the same logic and are simply assigned to the handset by the manufacturer. These such codes must be sourced from the manufacturer themself and this is where the delay occurs.

  • What if my mobile is not listed, can you still unlock it?
  • Sorry NO. Unfortunately, not all handsets can be unlocked. Please assume that we are currently unable to unlock your handset if it does not appear on the site.

  • I need my PUK code, can you please provide this?
  • Sorry NO, PUK codes can only be provided by your network operator, please contact them directly for more information.

  • Will I need any special software or cables?
  • Unless advertised, almost all of our unlocking services are extrememly easy to perform. We believe that keeping things simple and easy is key to making sure that our success rate at unlocking mobiles remains consistently high. It also keeps our support requests down :-)

  • What do I do with my unlock code when I receive it?
  • Full instructions on how to perform the unlock are provided once payment and delivery of your order has been completed. Should you require technical support, this is also provided free of charge and details of this are on the same page as your order is delivered.

  • Will your unlock code remove the branding on my handset?
  • It is only possible to de-brand a handset (remove any operator logos, backgrounds, screensavers etc.) by using a cable + software solution. Using unlock codes alone will not remove branding.

  • NOKIA FAQ's

  • My phone is prompting me for my PIN code, is this the same as an unlock code?
  • NO, If your Nokia handset is prompting you for your PIN code, this has either been changed or it may possibly be one of the default Nokia PIN codes, which are 00000 or 12345. We cannot bypass this PIN code process with any of our codes.

  • I have forgotten my lock code or security code, can you help?
  • Our unlock codes remove the restriction on the handset which prevent it from accepting a rival SIM card, we do not provide, PUK, lock or security codes. If you have forgotten your lock or security code, please try this website

  • MOTOROLA FAQ's

  • I insert a rival SIM card, Message reads "Contact Service Provider". What do I do?
  • If you leave your handset plugged in to it's charger for 24hrs or so with this message displayed, at some point you should see the message change to "Enter Subsidy Code" or "Enter Subsidy Password". This is where you need to input the code we provided you with in order to unlock your handset.

  • I have forgotten my lock code or security code, can you help?
  • Our unlock codes remove the restriction on the handset which prevent it from accepting a rival SIM card, we do not provide, PUK, lock or security codes. If you have forgotten your lock or security code, please seek a cable & software solution to bypass this security.
